Hurt/Comfort 2023 letter

soulstonedDear Hurt/Comfort creator, thanks for looking at my letter! The only ship I am requesting is Otabek/Yuri from Yuri!!! on Ice, in any combination (Otabek hurt, Yuri hurt, or both hurt). I am also Soulstoned on ao3. Any prompts I give are just ideas I have, feel free to ignore them! If I didn't dnw something, consider me opted in.
Likes:
● Mutual support. I love it when they’re on the same side when tackling whatever issue comes up. I definitely like “Otayuri vs the problem” far better than “Otabek and Yuri vs each other” for conflict within the fic.
● I like all stages of their relationship, from getting together to being married for 50 years.
●Hopeful endings. The type of ending where they're both alive, their relationship is solid, and the one (or both) who is hurt is healing or moving toward adapting to any new disability he might have if that is relevant to the tag you choose.
● Fic set in the canon universe, or an AU that is very close to the canon universe (like they’re still skaters or former skaters and omegaverse is a thing, or the world is slightly magical, or soulmates are a thing)
● Broken limbs, amputation (please leave at least one mostly functioning arm), spinal injuries, facial trauma, eye injuries (prefer one eye over both unless the blindness is temporary).
● Very serious injuries where a full recovery isn’t going to be possible and adapting to a new normal.
● Less serious injuries that would have probably healed fine if he had gotten help in time, but now it won’t. Maybe a hidden injury because he wanted to compete instead of resting, or maybe it happened while stranded and it took ages to be found.
● Infection, fever, delirium.
● Making tough choices, either on their own behalf, or on behalf of the other who is unconscious. Choices like sacrificing a limb to save his life, or go through a risky surgery that might make things better or might also make them worse.
● Supportive caretaking. Helping as much as is welcome without pushing. Being there for each other.
● If they still live long distance, the uninjured one hopping on a plane and rushing to the other’s side to help him through his recovery.
● Gentle, careful sex.
● Trying to help each other while both injured in different ways.
● I enjoy all levels of graphic detail, and I can't get grossed out in text. It's okay to gloss over things, but if you want to and are comfortable getting descriptive about things like bones poking through skin, or puddles of blood, or a shard of metal sticking out of an eye, I'm here for that.
● I like all of the characters, so including others is fine, even in major roles. Maybe Yuri is hurt and Victor stays with him until Otabek can get there. Maybe they are in an accident together just outside the rink at a competition and JJ witnesses it and tries to help. Maybe Yuri is roommates with Mila and the building they're both in collapses and he's worried about her too while waiting on rescue crews to find them both. I like it when they have people other than just each other.

● Use of feminine gendered terms for male characters, such as mom, wife, princess, etc
● Use of animal terms to describe a baby or pregnancy (Nicknaming the baby is fine, I mean things like referring to babies in general as pups or kits, or pregnancies as a litter)
● Break ups, infidelity, or suspicion of infidelity. This includes temporary break ups where characters separate but get back together, but I'm fine with one character thinking the other might leave him as long as that doesn't actually happen.
● Daddy kink. By this I mostly just mean using the word daddy during sex.
● Rule 63/gender swap
● Trans or asexual headcanons for requested characters (fine for characters outside the main pairing)
● Unrequested poly involving Yuri or Otabek. Background poly involving unrequested characters is fine.
● Permanent memory or personality altering head injuries. (Head injuries leading to temporary memory or personality issues or something mild like not being able to remember the day of the injury is fine. Head injuries that lead to literally anything else are also fine)
● Death of any of the following Characters: Yuri, Otabek, Yuuri, Victor, JJ, Christophe, Mila, Yuuko, or the triplets. Death of other canon characters or OCs over the age of 15 is fine. It is okay to seriously injure any character over 15 as long as anyone who is on the list pulls through or looks likely to pull through.
● Complete permanent loss of function in both arms. (Such as bilateral arm amputations or total paralysis.) Complete loss of one arm is fine. Loss of some function in both arms is fine as long as he also retains some function. Temporary paralysis affecting the arms is fine. I just want the injured character to still be able to hug because he's really going to need one.
● Hurt that is intentionally inflicted by a canon character. Hurt that is accidentally inflicted by a canon character is fine, and hurt that is intentionally inflicted by an OC is fine.

Maybe they're stranded or trapped and slowly bleeding out and trying to make peace with it only for help to come just in time. Coping with having to move on with life after all.
A tries to hide injuries from worse off B while awaiting help
Whichever one is less injured doesn't want the other to worry over him so he hides it as long as he can.
Losing an eye
Eye patches look cool, right? Maybe one of them took a skate to the face while they were practicing together. Just a freak accident with lasting consequences. Maybe a rock or some other projectile came off of the back of a vehicle they were following while on Otabek’s bike and their helmets don't have face shields.
Stranded Together & Have To Rely On Each Other To Survive
Something like a plane crash or shipwreck, or maybe they got lost together on a camping trip or hiking trail, or caught in a blizzard.
Old Injuries Acting Up
I would love a fic about the two of them growing old together and taking care of each other through the aches and pains from injuries acquired through years of skating.
Character beaten within an inch of their life by OC bad guy
Maybe the fan of another skater is trying to keep one of them out of a competition, or maybe Yuri mouthed off to the wrong person, or it could just be a completely random attack.
Adapting to new disability
Learning how to do things all over again
Character trapped under wall or pillar must have leg amputated for rescue
It might be something like one of them was trapped for long enough that moving the wall or pillar will cause the toxic build up and possibly kill him, or it could be something faster, like the collapsing building is on fire and it's the only way he can make it out at all.
Trapped under the rubble
Maybe a collapsed building or a rock slide?
Trapped Together While One Is Injured
It could be a vehicle accident or maybe some kind of attack that has required them to barricade the door.
A has to have limb amputated to save their own life - Only does it because B asked
It could be a very bad infection, or something like bone cancer, or it could be an injury like the pillar situation listed above. The other has to talk him into it.
Lying about being incapacitated character's spouse to make medical decisions on their behalf The family members who would normally make these decisions are unreliable or unavailable so the other steps in.
Badly injured character finds out they are pregnant in the hospital
Maybe they've been trying for a while and this is how they find out. Maybe the pregnancy is a surprise that gives them something positive to focus on while recovering. It could be a "Well, I might as well go through with this since it's not like I'm skating anymore" situation.
Formerly active character learns to cope with new disability
It would be a big adjustment and probably very frustrating.
Slow recovery from life changing injury
Learning to accept help and deal with the uncertainty around just how his recovery is going to go and deal with it when it's slower than he hoped.
