Omegaverse Exchange 2021

Thanks for checking out my letter! All tags are for Otabek/Yuri from Yuri on Ice, and I requested any combination of beta/omega or omega/omega. While I will happily discuss any aspect of my request with anyone who asks, (answering creator questions is one of my favorite things!) I know it can be awkward to talk to the mod about their requests, so you have my permission to just use your best judgement if there's a thing you aren't completely sure about. I'm not going to go to the mod about a possible dnw violation because that is way too awkward and I just don't like talking to myself that much. (That's not to say "throw my request out, this is alpha/alpha feral fight club rape zone now where everyone absolutely detests babies," just that if you're worried about maybe brushing against something that maybe isn't as clear as I hoped it was, it's probably fine. I don't have any relevant triggers.)

• I opt in to sequels for any of your fics provided the sequel matches my request in some way and the original is not completely centered around a dnw (since I will likely read your original fic first). It's fine if the original fic is completely unrelated to my current request (like maybe you're writing an Otayuri sequel to a Victuuri fic, or the preparing for baby sequel to a getting together fic)

• Touch the belly. Any belly, from the belly that is still flat but they just found out there's a baby in there to the overdue with twins belly. All bellies are good bellies.

• Love. I just want them to be so absurdly, disgustingly in love with each other. If you want to mix in soulmates or something, that's good too.

• Anything between fic that takes place immediately post-canon when they're completely unprepared teen parents dealing with a major career interruption to fic that takes place when they're in their 40's and really weren't expecting another kid after their other kids have grown well past the baby/toddler stage, or maybe they never expected to have kids at all after years of trying and failing to conceive.

• Omega anatomy that is externally indistinguishable from beta anatomy.

• Switching. I have no real preference about which one gets pregnant and I also don't care which one tops, but I don't like it when it is taken as a given that they would Never switch. (Biological reality meaning the beta can't get pregnant is fine, but taking it as a given that sex will always go one way with no discussion and no switching it up ever is not my thing.)

• Singletons or twins.

• All the nasty details. Feel free to get as graphic as you want when it comes to any aspect of pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and infant care.

• If they aren't retired yet, the pregnant character planning to return to his career after their baby is born.

• I'm fine with anything from beta/omega and omega/omega relationships being seen as completely socially normal, to their relationship being seen as unusual or unexpected.

• Surprise first heats, or breakthrough heats while on suppressants and helping each other through it.

• Anything from "Friends with benefits while mutually pining" to "Married for 25 years"

• Sex other than anal sex being seen as "real sex"

• Hurt/comfort and caretaking. Maybe the pregnant character is on bedrest and the other is taking care of him, or he's having a difficult pregnancy or painful labor. Maybe he has a history of miscarriage and he's afraid of the past repeating.

• Happy endings

• Dual genitalia/male omegas with vaginas

• Breakups or infidelity

• Genuinely one sided pining

• Equating omegas to women.

• Using animal terms to refer to a baby or pregnancy, such as pup/kit/litter

• Calling male characters "mom"

• Asexual or Aromantic headcanons

• Noncon. (Dubcon where both are on equal footing but true consent isn't possible under the circumstances is okay)

• Extreme animalistic behavior. Some mild scent marking or mentioning a mating bite is fine, I just don't want anyone to go "feral" and I don't like pack dynamics or growling/chirping/howling/other animal noises. The more human the characters are in behavior and world view the better. Just use your best judgement here.

• Death of requested characters or their children (first trimester or very early second trimester miscarriage is okay) Death of characters who are at least one generation older than requested characters is okay.

• Total setting change AU. I know it's hard to write omegaverse without changing anything about the setting, but I mostly just want the big things to stay the same. I want them to still be figure skaters (or retired figure skaters) who met the same way they met in canon, and don't live in a dystopia or other type of strictly stratified society. One thing I like about the ship is that they're equals and treat each other as such.

• Baby that is still unwanted at the time of birth. Initial negative reactions to the pregnancy are fine, but I want them to come around before the baby is born.

I'd like it if they got together, but as long as it's clear that the pining is mutual I'm fine with it. Maybe they had an arrangement to help each other with heats but then one of them experienced birth control failure.

If he was going to present, it would have happened by now, so he's pretty sure he's a beta which means unprotected sex is totally fine. Whoops.

Trying for a baby when wrong partner gets pregnant
Which one is the wrong one and why is up to you, I just enjoy the fun that comes with the ship getting the baby they wanted, but not in the way they expected.

Teen pregnancy rates high due to most omegas being caught off guard by their first heat
Just because it's socially normal and there isn't much of a stigma probably doesn't make it much easier to prepare for a baby at a young age.

Character can't keep hands off of pregnant partner's baby bump

This could be anything from early pregnancy symptoms to "nothing is kicking, what are you talking about? My guts have always done that"

This could make such a cute art prompt, but also for fic having to deal with the fallout of the pregnancy reveal is great.

Couple thought family was complete until surprise third or fourth pregnancy proved otherwise
They've been down this road at least a couple times and they were happy with the size of their family and not planning to have any more kids. Maybe their kids are even old enough that it feels really weird to start over with a baby, but that doesn't make them love this surprise baby any less.

Omega/Omega couples often have trouble conceiving (not these two though. Whoops)
Maybe they decided to have unprotected sex just once because surely the odds of conception were miniscule. Maybe they have decided they're ready for a baby so they go off their birth control with the agreement that whoever gets pregnant first will be the one to carry their child, expecting it to be a while before it happens for either of them, only for both of them to get pregnant right away.

They've been trying for what feels like forever when they switch places one time because they just missed doing it that way and the "wrong" character gets pregnant. When he breaks the news that maybe it isn't what they planned but they're having a baby and that's what really matters, the other is just like "um...about that"

First time sex leads to pregnancy despite character not even being in heat when it happened
Male omegas are only fertile during their heats, normally. Either one has a condition he didn't know about where his ovulation is offset from his heats, or fertility actually kicks in shortly before the heat does and it would have been his first heat, or his heat cycle is irregular.

Pregnancy announcement - friends and family assume other character is the pregnant one

Pregnant character is overdue and cranky about it
The last few weeks are just the worst.

Character swore to never get pregnant again after past miscarriage but has happier ending this time
