Dear author, thank you for writing for me! Kidfic is one of my favorite things, so I'm excited about this exchange. I'm going to list out my freeforms and give prompts to go with as many as I can. My prompts are all completely optional, just ideas I had in case you like having more direction. Combining prompts is also good, some of them would work really well together. If you see a freeform and have a different idea, that is totally fine too, surprises are fun.

For my mpreg requests, I don't actually have a preference for which guy gets pregnant, so if my prompt specifies, just assume I did that because it was easier than staying vague and feel free to flip it.

I also don't have any top/bottom preferences if you write smut, so just write it how you like it.

Keith/Shiro & Child(ren)

A lot of these requests for Sheith involve mpreg in some way, I like alien biology, either Keith can get pregnant because he is half-Galra, or Keith can impregnate literally anyone because he is half-Galra (Or both! Let them take turns!) I also like when Shiro's clone body has a surprise in store. Magical pregnancy or futuristic sci-fi pregnancy is also good. The only thing I specifically don't want is trans man pregnancy.

Alien genitals (for Keith), intersex biology (for either, but if you go with this and write smut, please let both guys' dicks get some attention), and good old fashioned assbirth are all fine with me. Feel free to go as detailed as you want or leave it vague. I especially like it when they didn't realize it was a thing that could happen.

If you want to incorporate elements of omegaverse as part of alien biology, that's fine. Just please avoid using animal terms to describe the baby or pregnancy (pup, kit, litter, etc) and please have the characters call each other by name and not by "alpha"

If not going with mpreg, adoption is also a great option! Maybe one of them rescued an orphaned or abandoned kid on a mission and got attached, or maybe they discovered another cloning facility and inside there was a Shiro clone that hadn't been artificially aged up. Maybe they met a half-galra kid who keeps getting passed up for adoption due to his or her heritage.

As for the couple themselves, I'm happy with ignoring all of season 8, ignoring just the epilogue, a modified season 8 where everything was the same except Allura came back after a year, or going fully canon compliant and skipping forward in time to after Shiro is divorced and Keith has a couple failed relationships under his belt. My prompts will probably be all over the place in that regard, but feel free to change it to whichever situation you like best. With all of that out of the way, here goes:

• Accidental pregnancy after thinking family was complete
They already have one or two kids and they are happy with that, until one of them gets a positive pregnancy test. Now their family is going to be a little bit bigger than they planned

• Accidental pregnancy after thinking to be unable to get pregnant
Keith knows male galra can get pregnant, but he has always taken more after his human side and he has been having sex (with Shiro or with others if his relationship with Shiro is new) for years without a single scare so he never gave much serious thought to the idea of it happening to him, until it does.

Or! Shiro knows male Galra can get pregnant, that is why they are always careful to use a condom when Keith bottoms, what he doesn't realize is his clone body isn't an exact replica of the original. It is a huge surprise when he finds out.

• Bed Rest
One of them is on bed rest and going stir crazy. It might be due to pregnancy complications, or it could be due to an injury that has the other scrambling to take care of both him and any older children they may have alone.

• Character without good role model for being a parent becomes a parent
Keith probably has some fond memories of his dad, and his mom is around now, so I actually had Shiro in mind for this. I headcanon that his parents were barely involved in his life. Maybe he was passed around between distant relatives until he reached the age to join the garrison, or maybe he also grew up in the system. There is no canon answer here, so anything goes.

• Character deciding to keep recently orphaned or abandoned child that they rescued
When responding to a call with the Blade of Marmora about a large scale attack or natural disaster, Keith finds a baby or toddler that is the lone survivor. With no remaining family to look after the kid, he finds himself in a caretaking position for a few days and gets attached. (Could also be Shiro and the Atlas instead of Keith and the BoM)

• Child Carried To Term By Male Parent (non-A/B/O)
Mpreg, yay! Not much else to say.

• Child is a Clone of Adult Character
They find a baby Shiro clone in an abandoned cloning facility. This could be about finding the baby and deciding to keep him, or it could take place when the kid is older and trying to form a unique identity separate from his dad.

• First Time Parent(s)
Their first few days home alone with their first baby, trying to figure out what they are doing and work out a routine, possibly while one of them is recovering from childbirth.

• Empty nesters adopt another child after their other kids grow up
After their youngest child moves out, their house (or spaceship!) is too quiet. They meet a half-galra kid who has been tossed around the system for a while and reminds Keith of himself at that age and end up bringing him or her home. I'm imagining age 10-13.

• Finding a way to make mpreg happen after being rejected by adoption agency
Keith is too Galra to adopt a child on Earth and Shiro is not Galra enough to adopt a child on Daibazaal, or maybe the issue was their careers not reliably letting them spend much time in one place. Instead of stewing in their disappointment, they find another way to become parents. Maybe Keith could technically get pregnant but has low fertility due to being a hybrid and has to go through fertility treatments, or maybe they need the help of magic (like an Altean friend) to make it happen.

• Newborn children
Spending time with a new baby.

• Mpreg
I just really like mpreg. I'm sure you couldn't tell ;)

• Other parent's turn to be pregnant when planning second child
Keith had the first one and he is never doing that again. If Shiro wants another baby, he has to be the one to get pregnant this time. Maybe it was always a possibility, maybe it started as a joke but they found a way to make it happen.

• Unplanned Pregnancy
Surprise! I especially like it when they had no idea it was even possible, but birth control failure is also good. Doesn't necessarily have to be their first kid, they could have an older child who is adopted, or maybe they knew Shiro could get pregnant because he had the first one, but who would have guessed that Keith could too?

• Preparing child for birth of sibling
Explaining to preschool aged kid that they are going to be a big brother or sister and all that entails.

• Spending time with children inspires character to become a parent
After spending the day babysitting Allura and Lance's kid(s) they have a serious discussion about having one of their own. (Feel free to substitute a different ship as the parents of the kid they are babysitting, as long as it is canon, M/M or F/F)

• Surprise late in life pregnancy after children have grown up
I headcanon that Keith ages slowly due to being half-galra, and Shiro ages slowly or not at all due to improvements made to his clone body. Their kids are adults, maybe they even have a grandkid or two, so when they find out they're expecting another one it comes as one hell of a surprise.

• Using magic to make a baby
They go through a magic ritual on an alien planet and one of them comes out of it pregnant. Maybe they knew what they were doing, maybe there was a miscommunication or translation error somewhere.

Keith/Shiro & Keith's child(ren)

• Absent Parent
Keith has a kid from a previous relationship or one night stand, and the other dad is not involved. The kid has to deal with feeling rejected by the parent they never knew, which brings up old feelings in Keith from his own childhood that he thought he had left in the past.

• Accidental Baby Acquisition
Keith rescued a baby and either got attached and chose to keep them, or by the laws of the planet where he found the kid, saving an orphan means you are now that orphan's parent, so congrats. It is a difficult adjustment to being a single dad, so Shiro steps in to help him take care of the baby and they fall in love.

• Adopting Partner's Child(ren)
Shiro adopts Keith's kid.

• Adopted or step child worries that upcoming biological child will be new favorite
Shiro has always been a great stepdad to Keith's daughter and they are very close, but when Keith and Shiro decide to have another kid together, she worries that once Shiro has his own baby he will prefer the new baby over her. Shiro reassures her that that won't be the case.

• Child is a Clone of Adult Character
When a baby Shiro clone was found in an abandoned cloning facility, Shiro was unable to deal with it. Maybe he was overwhelmed by the idea of another clone existing, or maybe it happened right as his marriage was falling apart which would be the worst possible time to bring a kid into the mix.

There was no way Keith was going to let any version of Shiro grow up in the system, so he adopted the clone himself. Now, years later Shiro is over whatever issues he was having at the time the clone baby was found and he and Keith start a relationship.

• Dating as a single parent
By the time Keith and Shiro are both single and ready to date each other at the same time after years of near-misses, Keith has a kid. This complicates things, but is by no means a dealbreaker.

• hidden pregnancy
Keith got pregnant by a one night stand, fwb, or sex pollen incident. He is embarrassed so he hides out, not visiting Earth at all and being careful to answer all video calls from only the shoulders up.
He hasn't really thought through how he is going to explain the kid once it comes. Shiro gets worried by his odd behavior and tracks him down. He helps Keith out with the last part of his pregnancy and taking care of the baby and they fall in love.

• Pregnancy Discovered After Breakup
Keith was in a relationship that didn't work out (as far as exes go, I like James Griffin or a random OC blade member). After the break up he discovers he is pregnant. He has to break the news and deal with coparenting with his ex while starting a new relationship with Shiro.

• Bed Rest
Keith gets put on bed rest while pregnant from a one night stand, fwb, or sex pollen incident and Shiro shows up to take care of him.

After an infant clone of himself is found, Shiro finds himself becoming that baby's caretaker. Keith helps.

• Dating as a single parent
By the time Shiro and Keith are finally both single and ready to date each other at the same time, Shiro has a kid. This complicates things but is not a dealbreaker.

• Pregnancy Discovered After Breakup
Shiro finds out he is pregnant while going through a divorce with Curtis. It isn't enough to save the relationship, so they have to awkwardly muddle through coparenting as exes, something that might get even more awkward when Shiro starts dating Keith.

• Parenting Your Own Clone
There are some special difficulties that happen when the child you are parenting is literally a tiny version of yourself.

• Bed Rest
Shiro is put on bedrest due to pregnancy complications while single and Keith drops everything to come take care of him.

Alternatively, Shiro is the single dad of a baby or small child and he is put on bedrest due to a serious injury and Keith shows up to take care of them both.

• Reassuring step-child that they are just as loved as their new half-sibling
After Keith and Shiro have a baby together, Shiro's oldest child worries that Keith will love the new baby more. Keith reassures them that that is not the case.

Pidge & Child(ren)
Family is important to Pidge. I can see her deciding to have a kid or two eventually for that reason. I headcanon Pidge as a lesbian, so please don't include anything that would contradict that headcanon (it is totally fine to just avoid mentioning relationships at all though.)

• Befriending Someone Else's Child
Shiro and Keith, or Allura and Lance have a kid that is incredibly nerdy. They try their best but they struggle to understand them. (It is important that they are good parents who are really trying)
One day, in a fit of preteen or young teen dramatics the kid runs away to go stay with "Aunt Pidge" who is the only person to truly understand them. After reassuring the parents that the kid is safe, she agrees to let the kid stay for a little while until they calm down.

• Late-in-life Parents assumed to know what they're doing (but don't actually know what they're doing)
Babies are supposed to be easy, right? When Pidge decides to have a child alone after reaching her early 40's without really having the opportunity to have one with a partner she doesn't expect it to be this hard. After realizing that she is struggling, her friends (who mostly have older children) are there to help.

• Single parent by choice
Having a family is important to Pidge, relationships not so much, so once she decides she is ready for a baby, she doesn't let being single stop her.

• Using science to make a baby
Once Pidge decides to become a mom, she doesn't just do things the usual way, she has to make sure her kid is perfectly planned. This might just mean analyzing samples from potential sperm donors to find the perfect match and maybe going a little crazy with it, or it could mean growing a baby in a lab.


Lance & Child(ren)
I have had this angsty scenario stuck in my head for a while now, where Lance finds out he is pregnant shortly after Allura's sacrifice. I'm imagining magic or Altean biology as the reason. Did it happen magically at the same time he got his Altean markings, or was he already pregnant before that due to Altean biology reasons and he just didn't know? I'm up for a mega-sad version where Allura is completely dead for real, or a more hopeful version where she visits him in dreams and promises to come back eventually.

• Child Carried To Term By Male Parent (non-A/B/O)
This was probably quite a surprise for Lance.

• Emotional Pregnancy
Lance is grieving while preparing for a baby that is his last connection to Allura.

• It takes a village
Lance is 19ish and his baby's other parent is dead or otherwise gone at least for now. He can't do this alone, but luckily he doesn't have to. His friends and family are there for him to help out.

• Other parent dead

Maybe while pregnant with his half-altean baby, Lance is capable of some Altean alchemy. Hell, maybe shapeshifting explains how he is going to be able to give birth when the time comes.

Mako/Wu

I can see them adopting once they decide to have kids. Their very different upbringings would probably influence their parenting styles. I think Wu would find stories about Mako's childhood very upsetting and want to bring home every street kid he sees. Mako on the other hand just sees what he went through as normal and is less inclined to bring home literally every child.

Maybe they compromise by adopting a couple kids and working extensively with charities to help the others. Wu has money and influence, he could make it happen.


• Adopting a war orphan
The war in the Earth Kingdom and the destruction in republic city probably created a lot of orphans.

• Adopting an older child
Babies and toddlers have higher odds of being adopted, so once Wu and Mako are ready for a child, they decide to give an older kid a chance.

• Adopting an Orphan/Orphans
Maybe they use an agency, maybe they take in a kid off the street.

• Character deciding to keep recently orphaned or abandoned child that they rescued
Mako was just trying to do his job when he found himself ordered to bring the baby/toddler he just found to the local orphanage. Once he gets there he can't fathom leaving this kid there, so he takes them home instead.

• Orphan children have no status within their culture
There is no protection for street kids and nowhere for them to really go either. Mako and Wu aim to change that.

• Having a child brings back memories of own childhood
Their childhoods were very different, but both are determined to do better for their own kids in different ways.

• Someone left a baby on my doorstep!
It is known throughout town that Mako and Wu run most of the charities for dealing with orphan kids locally and that they have even taken a couple kids in personally.

Someone leaves a baby on their doorstep and they have no idea what they are doing. Their other kids were older when they adopted them, and working with the charities doesn't involve as much hands on childcare as you would think. It is time to learn.

• Street Rats
Dealing with the local street kid population and trying to establish help for them reminds Mako of his own childhood.

What could she have been like if her childhood was different?

• Travelling back in time to kidnap self as a child
Azula is given a chance to go back in time, and she uses that chance to kidnap herself as a child.
Maybe her intentions are mostly good, trying to spare herself the pain of growing up the way she did, or maybe her intentions are more sinister, trying to raise a version of herself to do what she couldn't and take the throne.

• Time Loop - Unable to Fix the Past
Azula goes back to the day of the Agni Kai to try to change things, but no matter how many times she loops, she keeps losing.

• Re-witnessing Childhood Gives New Perspective
After going back in time to see her own childhood, Azula realizes she never really had a chance.

• Deaged character thinks caretaker character kidnapped them
Azula gets deaged and her child-self has to deal with the present and how things turned out. Zuko is my first thought for her caretaker, but I am interested in other takes as well.

Hello, and thank you for offering one of my fandoms. This is my first time participating in Fandom 5k, and I am excited. I am soulstoned on Ao3.

I am going to start with a few general likes and DNWs that would apply to everything, then break the letter down by fandom and request after that. Any prompts listed are just ideas I had in case you need inspiration, feel free to write something completely different or combine prompts. I'm looking forward to the surprise! I enjoy a pretty wide range of things, so you aren't going to disappoint me by writing the story you want to write as long as it doesn't conflict with a DNW. If you write smut, I don't have strong top/bottom preferences for any of my ships, so just write it how you like it.

Don't be afraid to write me something weird, I like weird. If you have some off the wall idea or unusual kink you have been wanting to write but you think nobody would want to read it, I want to read it (assuming it does not hit a dnw).

I am also not afraid of some violence or gore. If you want to go into detail about a torture scene or medical issue, that is fine with me, even including the common dnws like hand and eye stuff. I have a strong stomach for that kind of thing and it will not turn me off of a fic.

Azula has finally accepted that she will never be the Fire Lord, but she can't get anyone to believe that she has accepted it, aside from Ty Lee. Ty Lee takes a break from the Kyoshi warriors to travel back to the Fire Nation with Azula and help her regain acceptance and fit into her old home. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't and Azula ends up leaving the Fire Nation with Ty Lee for good.

Azula has somehow gained power, either through a connection with a spirit, being chosen by a dragon, or being elected leader of a region during one of the first tests of democracy in what will eventually become the United Republic. Nobody trusts her to use this power wisely and Ty Lee is sent to keep an eye on her. They fall in love.

Azula has gone a step too far and lost her bending as a consequence. Ty Lee helps her adjust to life as a non-bender.

Smut. Ty Lee is very flexible and Azula likes to be in control. Just sayin' (Age them up to at least 18 please)

Zuko has been captured. Azula is suspect number 1 even though she is actually innocent for once. The Kyoshi warriors are on the case and Azula approaches Ty Lee who is the only person she thinks may believe her and offers her assistance in finding him. Is she telling the truth, or is this just another bid to take over the throne?

Fandom Specific: Avatar the Legend of Korra

Mako/Wu prompts:

When Wu leaves to do the necessary work that goes into abdicating the throne and developing the Earth Kingdom into a democracy, Mako is appalled to realize just how much he misses him.

Wu is arranged to be married and can't find a way out of the contract. He really does not want to go through with it and as the deadline approaches he is running out of options. He realizes that the only way he can get out of the contract is if he is already married. Mako volunteers, after all, what are friends for?

Mako gets hurt and it is up to Wu to take care of him.

Korra/Asami prompts:

Korra and Asami take an anniversary trip to the Spirit World. Due to the interference of a spirit who thought it was doing them a favor, one of them ends up pregnant. (I know I requested a version of this for Unusual Bearings. At the time I am writing this letter, I haven't seen my gift yet, but even if this prompt is the one that was written for me I could happily read a hundred different versions of this story.)

Asami is suitably impressed by all the ways Korra is able to use bending in the bedroom and decides to put her own special skills to good use. "Asami invents the Vibrator"

A new threat has emerged on Kyoshi Island, where an elderly Suki is still alive and now the leader. Korra and Asami work together with Suki (who was Asami's childhood hero) to put an end to the threat.

Fandom Specific: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
Season 2 of She-Ra will be released during the writing period. I'll watch it well before reveals, so feel free to deal with season 2 however you want. You can include season 2 spoilers or base the fic completely off of season 1. Whatever is easiest for you.

Groundhog's day AU where Catra is stuck reliving the day Adora left the Horde. Is there anything she can do differently to make Adora stay, or will she realize that the real solution is to go with her?

Catra gets hurt and left behind deep in rebellion territory. Adora has to keep her hidden while she recovers.

Catra goes to Adora with a plan to take down Shadow Weaver once and for all. Will Adora help, knowing that Catra has no plans to leave the Horde and may only be using this opportunity to guarantee her own advancement?

Fandom Specific: Voltron: Legendary Defender

Likes:

Canon Divergence. Anything from something happened pre-series that changed the entire course of events, to just ignoring the epilogue.

The paladins (including Shiro) staying close long after the end of the series

Alien cultural differences

Something I really like about Acxa as a character is how she can say something completely horrifying that she has been through like it is just a normal part of life. Her moments with Veronica in season 8 were the best part of the season to me

DNWs:

Purple catboy Keith. He can have some Galra biology stuff going on without major changes to his appearance (at least what we see with clothes on)

Klance. I like Keith and Lance as just friends.

Anything that suggests that any combination of paladins has been feuding or out of contact long-term.

Broganes. Even if we matched on a different pairing and you don't ship it, please call them best friends, not brothers. I like them as friends, but getting too literal with the brother thing weirds me out

Focus on end-game Shiro/Curtis. Mentioning it in the background of a fic that isn't Shiro-centric is fine, fic taking place post-divorce that talks about their relationship is fine.

Fic that bashes Curtis or turns him into an irredeemable asshole. He can be wrong for Shiro without being a bad person!

Fic where Pidge gets a feminine makeover

Veronica/Acxa prompts:

Veronica becomes one of the first full-humans to join the Blade of Marmora after membership is opened up to non-galra following it's transition into a humanitarian aid organization. She does it in order to stay close to Acxa who she is tired of dating long distance. The fic would revolve around the trial process, an intro to what the BoM is up to post-series, and Veronica and Acxa moving in together.

Acxa worries that Veronica's family won't like her in the days or weeks leading up to meeting most of them for the first time.

Acxa opens up about some of the worst things she has seen or done during her time working for Lotor and the ways she is trying to make up for it. Veronica is understanding and offers to help Acxa make amends with some of the ones she feels like she has wronged.

Now that Honerva is no longer a threat, Acxa and Veronica return to the wreckage to retrieve Kova

Acxa is affected by a substance that had been used as a defense mechanism against Galra invaders on a planet she is visiting. This could be a simple poison/sickfic, or it could be something smutty like sex pollen or fuck or die. Either way, Veronica is there to help her through it.

Shiro/Keith prompts

Due to either something relating to Shiro's clone body or Keith's galra biology, one of them is pregnant. This comes as a big shock to both of them because they didn't think it was possible. (I know I requested a version of this for Unusual Bearings. At the time I am writing this letter, I haven't seen my gift yet, but even if this prompt is the one that was written for me I could happily read a hundred different versions of this story.)

After Shiro's divorce he is itching to get back into space. Keith brings him along on a BoM mission and things escalate.

Keith goes missing when a BoM mission goes bad. Now it is Shiro's turn to save Keith

One of them is physically hurt and needs to take it easy while he recovers. Unfortunately he is a terrible patient who refuses to sit still and allow himself to be taken care of. The other does his best.

Keith is affected by a substance that had been used as a defense mechanism against Galra invaders on a planet he is visiting. This could be a simple poison/sickfic, or it could be something smutty like sex pollen or fuck or die. Either way, Shiro is there to help him through it.

Group: Keith & Acxa & Ezor & Zethrid prompts

After realizing that their humanitarian missions often fail to fix anything long term, Keith and his team bring the BoM back to it's roots for more long term solutions to the universe's problems.

When one of them is captured, the other three have to race against the clock to save them

Acxa, Ezor, and Zethrid go through the trials to become full-fledged BoM members

Group: Allura & Coran & Shiro & Keith & Lance & Hunk & Pidge prompts

When one of the group is missing post-canon, the rest band together to find them. This might take place in a canon divergence where Allura didn't die or came back quickly, or she may just be mentioned because the group has already lost one of their own and they refuse to lose another one.

A member of the group gets a clue that Allura might still be out there. They all band together to find her and bring her home. Some possibilities include something relating to Lance's altean markings, Keith's quintessense sensitivity, Shiro's connection through the crystal that powers his arm, or Pidge doing something sciency.

Keith gets in over his head on a BoM mission and has to call the others in for back up
