soulstonedDear creator, thank you for checking out my letter! It's pretty long, but I tried to break it up to make it easy to skip the things that aren't relevant. All requests are for Otabek/Yuri from Yuri on Ice, and I don't have a preference for which one is or was pregnant.
Likes
• Incorporating pregnancy into the worldbuilding somehow.
• Switching, letting the pregnant person top.
• Pregnancy that comes as a huge surprise, especially if they had no idea it was a thing that was even possible, or they knew it was technically possible but the odds were very low.
• Smut incorporating any combination of body worship, difficulty positioning, belly loving, and just fluffy, lovey heart eyes. Kissing during sex.
• Established but still pretty new relationships, pregnancy or baby acquisition coming at an inconvenient time but making it work anyway.
• Happy endings. Make the beginning and middle as rocky as you want, but at the end I want two happy parents and a healthy baby (whether that baby is in or out of the womb is up to you)
• All the gross details. I promise, where pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and infant care is concerned you couldn't squick me if you tried.
• Belly. Rub the belly, touch the belly, talk to the belly, kiss the belly. All bellies welcome, from the still flat but wow there's a baby in there belly, to the overdue with twins belly. There are no bad bellies. I cannot stress this enough: belly good.
• Pregnancy that is unusual in-universe. Maybe it's omegaverse and male omegas are uncommon, maybe they encountered some magic, maybe male pregnancy is something that is known to happen but just very rare to the point where most people will never know a pregnant man. Coming up with ways to tell friends and family, feeling weird about it at first (not emasculated, just kind of mind blown that this is really a thing that is happening to them) coming around to being happy about it at some point before or even immediately after birth.
• Babies are great. I especially like tiny babies, like newborn-3 months.
• Exhausted new parents, adjusting to life with a baby.
• Humor. Not like crackfic, but this can be a pretty ridiculous situation, so it's fine to lean into that and embrace it.
• Love, fluff, feelings. Quiet domesticity in the midst of whatever is going on in the world.
• Parents continuing their career while pregnant or parenting (or planning to continue it after they recover for the pregnant parent)
• Post-canon fic. Anywhere from immediately post-canon (things got heated after Welcome to the Madness and ...whoops?) to post-retirement when they're both in their late 20's - 40's and actually doing this on purpose.
• Shotgun weddings
• Sequels! If you've written another work in the same universe that doesn't fully revolve around a dnw and you want to write a sequel or prequel for my request, that's great! If the original wasn't for me, then it is now. If the original was for me, then I definitely want more. It can be a sequel to something that isn't on theme, like a getting together fic, or even a fic about a different ship where they were in the background.
DNW
● Use of feminine gendered terms for male characters, such as mom, wife, princess, etc
● Use of animal terms to describe a baby or pregnancy (Nicknaming the baby is fine, I mean things like referring to babies in general as pups or kits, or pregnancies as a litter)
● Break ups, infidelity, or suspicion of infidelity
● Daddy kink
● Rule 63/gender swap
● Trans or asexual headcanons for requested characters (fine for characters outside the main pairing)
● Permanent memory or personality altering head injuries. (Head injuries leading to temporary memory or personality issues or something mild like not being able to remember the day of the injury is fine. Head injuries that lead to literally anything else is also fine)
● Death of requested characters or their children (past miscarriage is fine, even if it's a fully detailed flashback.)
● Direct mentions of the pregnant character having a vagina. (Vaginal sex, impregnantion, birth, etc) It's okay to just leave his pants on and not mention it at all or be vague about how the birth will happen or have him have a c-section.
Potential causes of pregnancy
Omegaverse
This is going to be a long section because omegaverse is a collection of tropes that vary a lot from fic to fic. Some of those tropes I like and some I don't.
Things I like:
• Heats and ruts (I prefer the turbo-horny but still able to think clearly version over the mindless fuck-machine version)
• Omega/Omega or Beta/Omega pairings
• Mpreg
• Fisting as a substitute for a knot for a character who doesn't have one.
• Anal sex with no prep necessary
• Omega or beta partner struggling to keep up with their partner's heat.
Things I don't like:
• Animalistic behavior. Things like snuffling and chirping, and thinking of other people as "packmates." The more human their behavior and world view is the better.
• Societal oppression of omegas (or betas or alphas) especially if done in ways that are clearly just sexism with the serial numbers filed off.
• Omegas as biologically automatically more nurturing or subservient to alphas. Alphas having an "alpha voice" that they can use to control others.
• Use of animal terms for a baby or pregnancy, like pup, kit, litter.
If I didn't mention it specifically, I probably feel very neutral about it. (Scent, biting, pair bonding, and nesting fit here. There are probably also things I'm not thinking of)
Magic
I can picture a scenario where a fan of one of them gifts a magic-imbued object that will grant them their deepest wish and it turns out his deepest wish was a family with his boyfriend/husband, or maybe a group of fans of a rival get together to curse one of them to get him out of the season and one of them gets cold feet and adds "but without hurting him" and that certainly is one way to get him out of a season without hurting him. Maybe the hot springs are magic. Maybe another m/m couple had a baby under mysterious circumstances a few years ago and now they want to try to replicate that. Maybe one of them or someone close to him starts dabbling in magic without really knowing what they're doing. I want them to still be skaters (or retired skaters) with the events of canon unchanged, just add magic on top of that. It can be anywhere from "Everyone knows about magic and some people can control it pretty well" to "There is exactly one magical place/item on the planet and nobody will believe you."
It just happens sometimes
For when you don't want to explain it. It can be common or rare, maybe there's a specific mpreg gene, or maybe any guy can get pregnant but it usually takes a lot of work to make it happen. However you want to write it, I'll like it.
Birth
Ass Birth
Honestly, just treat it like a vaginal birth if this is what you decide to go with, unless you have ideas for how it could go differently. I can suspend disbelief just fine in this regard. The booterus is a gift and I'm not going to question it's power.
I'm fine with things going smoothly or badly, as long as the baby and parents are still alive at the end of the fic. Don't be afraid of grossing me out, I'm not sure if it can be done. I'm fine with any level of ease, from out on the first push after a short labor, to long hours of labor and pushing followed by tearing and a long recovery.
Maybe he has been planning a surgical birth is stuck outside of a hospital and has to have the baby naturally, and well, this is the only exit. I'm fine with ass birth being the normal and expected way for a pregnant man to do things, and also for pregnant men to be practically unheard of so there is no standard practice in place.
I'm also fine with a planned ass birth turning into an emergency C-section.
Surgical Birth
This might be planned from the start, or it could be an emergency.
Maybe it is a situation where men can't normally get pregnant, therefore nobody is sure if they will be able to give birth safely or not (or are positive they cannot.)
If male pregnancy is normal in universe, I would prefer for the fic to say why he has to have a c-section (even "he wants to" is a good enough reason, but breech presentation is a pretty easy explanation for why there would be a c-section and no additional complications if you're looking for a reason) because I have a tough time suspending disbelief that a species where the men can get pregnant but not give birth naturally would survive long enough to invent the c-section.
If it is abnormal in universe, or the character has already been having complications, there is no need to explain.
Intentionally Vague Birth
This might mean setting the fic entirely in the earlier part of the pregnancy, or skipping straight from first contraction to baby snuggles, or it could mean having someone in the waiting room as the point of view character. If you don't want to get into it, you don't have to! Maybe the fic is one where the baby is already born and the details of the birth are left out entirely.

Maybe they already have teen or young adult children, or maybe they tried for years when they were younger and never had any luck so they gave up a long time ago.

Tired and sore and trying to figure out how to take care of a baby.
Positive pregnancy test found in the trash
Maybe it was found in the trash at the rink so there are multiple suspects
Pregnant character injured (baby is okay)
I was thinking something like a trip and fall, or a vehicle accident. A big scare and some belly bruises would be great. Additional injuries are also nice, like maybe he broke his wrist trying to catch himself but all he really cares about in the moment is the baby?
Pregnant character is overdue and cranky about it
The last couple weeks are the worst
Pregnant characters' bumps pressing together as they make out
How do you think they got into this situation in the first place? lol
Teen Pregnancy
Whoops.
Trying for baby but wrong partner gets pregnant
This is just the funniest thing. They get the baby they wanted, but not the way they planned.
unaware of pregnancy until first kicks
Could be that mpreg is rare enough to not be something he would suspect, or it could be that it's common but he's in some very heavy denial until he can't be anymore.
A gave birth to first child so B gets to have second
It's only fair, right?
Character A is heavily pregnant while Character B is just starting to show
Character swore to never get pregnant again after past miscarriage but has happier ending this time
Character undecided about staying pregnant has miscarriage scare and just wants baby to be okay
Couple thought family was complete until surprise third or fourth pregnancy proved otherwise
Friends with benefits while pining further complicated by unplanned pregnancy
They aren't together yet, and now they have an even bigger problem.

Maybe a tabloid gets ahold of a picture of a baby bump or fans spot one of them going into an ob-gyn office after pulling out of the season and they have to announce not only the pregancy but also their relationship that they had kept under wraps until now.
